Stuck in the land of no IT

Thats where I have been for the whole of Easter weekend. Of course no helplines open and my machine gets collected tomorrow morning.

It has nevertheless been a weekend full of events.

Firstly I have to thank Richard, Heather and the girls for skipping lunch, driving 30 miles on Bank Holiday Mondayto pull the wifes truck out of the wood (where I had got it bogged down).

It seems also apologies as I have blown the big end in the shoot jeep. Ooops!

Still I got out today and topped up some feeders and moved some others.

Thirsty work though so a quick one outside The Red Lion on the way home!

I am teaching on a course next month so off to Winchester for a refresher this friday so at least I will have the right hymn sheets.

There is always some good news

On the way back from Dogtraining this afternoon we received a call booking a visit to see the last pup in the litter, yipee, sad to see them go but glad that they will all go to good homes, most of them working. The rest of the day oh yes more dummy launcher work;

The weather was fine although the fields around are extreemly boggy at the moment. I wish it was still January as the floods are coovered in Ducks and Geese.

A little more work with the camera and we should have enough to build a short dog training video. If at least how not to!

Feeding time

Lunch anyone?

The last two pups may have been baggsied

Emails and phone calls lastnight from interested parties in the last 2 pups. This is good news as in effect we havent had to advertise and pay! Makes a change when after paying stud fees, vet fees and Kennel Club registration fees at least this time we may be able to pay towards the upkeep of the rest of the pack.
This young chap is the remaining dog, Nelson at the moment but whoever buys him can call him what ever they want:

This young lady is Venus, same as above whoever gets her can call her what they want;

These are definetly the last two. We wont breed next year and will only breed the year after if I can find the right sire for the pups that I want!

Ok how the dummy launcher work should have happened.

Sadly this is really what happened most of the time;

Children and animals eh?

A day training on the farm

Well seeing how despite my bad back I have a bit of time on my hands I thought we would take a ride out to the farm and test the Dokken Dead Fowl Trainer Green Winged Teal Launcher Dummy.
This is one of the items stocked in my wifes shop so as we always test everything we sell ourselves it was decided to see if this bird dummy was any good.
We have used the dummy launcher before but it was a long time ago and I had forgotten how much recoil the thing can generate. I will be putting a clip of it working on the shop website but I thought that you might enjoy an out take.

There is more but we will upload this a bit at a time as the files are rather large.

Another worthless day commuting in for a very surreal interview

A bit like being interrogated by Peter Sellars whilst your mum wears a gimp suit!
Never mind I returned home to see this:

I did receive this in my inbox which reminds me to change my message reminder:

More pups:

Well a busy weekend it was

A shooting friend from Hampshire visited and put a deposit on a bitch, that leaves me 3 pups left. Someone else dropped out on a dog so I still have 2 bitches and a dog for sale, they can be viewed now and collected on the weekend of 6th April. They will be 8 weeks old then and have had their first innoculations...

This is bitch number 1 lovely looking isnt she?

This handsome young chap is the remaining dog!

This is the other bitch;

Sat in the storms battering our coastline at the moment wondering if it will stop raining long enough this week to go dog training and stalking!

An evening in the woods

Richard and I bimbled over this afternoon to see what was there and if we could see any deer. The Hunt had been through this week judging by the tracks and with that and the woodsman coppicing the chestnut it was a fruitless afternoon, well almost.

The wood looked glorious in its spring colours but still no deer despite seeing slots chewed up by hoof prints.

I put Richard up at one endwhere high seat faces the West end, a possibly difficult place to shoot with sunset but as I cut through the eastern end I heard a bang that wasnt one of the locals with a shotgun.

On walking back through I found this sight:

You can clearly see the exit wound, nice one. It turns out to be a pregnant vixen so thats one less litter in the area. JWD. The brush is now about to be preserved.

Organ donor machines

Is what my father in law calls motorbikes and scooters, I have no reason to disagree and perhaps this clip is why they are available in such quantities in China! Organs that is!

Grim!

This bloke needs a job in Jeremy Clarksons cabinet

Australian top jobs

Top job...
A bloke goes into the Job Centre in Melbourne and sees a card advertising for a Gynaecologist's Assistant. Interested he goes to learn more. "Can you give me some more details about this?" he asks the guy behind the desk.
The Job Centre guy sifts through his files and replies, "Uh... yes here it is... OK, the job entails you getting patients ready for the gynaecologist. You have to help them out of their underwear, lie them down and wash their nether regions. Then apply shaving foam and shave off all their pubic hair then rub in soothing oils so they're ready for the Gynaecologist's examination. There's an annual salary of $45,000 but I'm afraid you'll have to go to Sydney ."
"Oh why, is that where the job's based?"
"No, that's where the end of the queue is!"

The humour eventually catches up with you!

Thanks to Jeremy for most of these:

at least they arent stealing cars or dealing in drugs eh?
So this is how we get outplayed at football!

This is allegedly a candidate for the Darwin awards:
What would you use to illuminate the inside of a fuel tanker, a hand held light right, not a zippo?

This is a great clip for Underwear sales courtesy of my boss the wife:

These little fellas are what have been keeping me busy the last 5 weeks, 2 sold already!

A little clip of one of the pups destined for a working home you can see he likes to hunt down game already, started on the nellyphants!

Makes sense to me

Only I couldnt drive when I was dating and spent all of my money on beer!

So whilst surfing the web for my mail this morning this sprang to my attention

More universities?
It seems despite the criminally negligent haste that was displayed in converting all of our old Polytechnics under the Tories into universities it seems the desire to fund fake degrees in soap opera studies and underwater basket weaving are on the up.
What on earth is wrong with training our youth to do those jobs which only it seems Polish builders seem capable of anymore?
More useless unemployed graduates paying off student loans for the rest of their naturals whilst flipping burgers at Macdonalds. I feel a rash of media graduate jokes will do the rounds again.

Another days stalking in Sussex

Well a morning at least and Warren managed to get his doe. A good shot and a clean kill. Now all we need to do is last to the end of the month and we can start on the Roe Bucks.

A good cooked Breakfast followed by some Squirrel hunting over in our little wood and amazingly we found lots of slots. Time to resite the new trail camera.

This has to be better than working for a living!
