Well someone certainly passed their MBA in business bollock speak

Didnt they?
This arrived in my email today;

This is a delegate centred workshop focusing on the importance of employee engagement through quality performance conversations to achieve improved business results. The workshop will offer you an opportunity to examine and discuss the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to engage your people in a range of performance conversations.

· Performance Planning Conversation – setting objectives
· Regular formal one to ones conversations
· Improving under performance conversations

Objectives:

Identify and explain how the manager’s behaviour and actions impact on overall performance.
Explain the differences between the different types of conversation interventions and improve their confidence in choosing the right type of intervention.
Identify the key skills and behaviours that support these types of intervention.
Explain how employee engagement enhances the delivery of business outcomes.

Allegedly its to teach me how to speak to my staff. Well it wont be winning any Crystal charter mark for plain English will it?

Now I know I have been slack in posting but the above may explain why I have been busy, if not then look at this;
An unbeleivably hot day spent in reasonable company watching some very good gundog work.
The Tea Lady here making the special award for the Junior Novices. Many thanks to SEGS for the day.

He's outa my life

And all the other puns, I noticed that some white bloke who used to be black has generated about 12 pages of jokes about his passing on the Army Rumour Service.
Well I am not going to get excited about it, it really makes no difference at all to how I live my life and I certainly dont expect to get all soppy and emotional about it, after all its not like he was Elvis was it?
Right now thats done lets get back tgo the serious stuff;

Back on the horse again!

So after much pestering to go out and thin the rabbit population I drove up to work so I could visit the wood that evening on the way home.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this chap lounging around;

He was worth a look for again later so I popped him into the hedge as this is the closest to home I have seen a Roe Buck and to age him would be interesting.

After work I took the car down to the woods and whilst wandering around saw a nice Roe Doe, and heard at least 2 different bucks barking at each other so I figured the wood could support the loss of one, fifty yards at a push?

After dealing with this chap we wandering off filling the pot with rabbits and away home to see if mr roadkill was still there.

video

Gone sadly so either the council or the pikeys are having a very gamey venison stew!
When I got back and hung the carcasse I found that the shot had missed the shoulder/leg bone and gone through the ribs taking out the heart and lung connection. Nice, I must remember that sight picture, as if it will ever leave me eh?

More Darwin Candidates?

Or are they incredibly brave?

Some might describe these antics as of no danger to anyone but himself, tell that to the poor sod who has to recover the body!

That said this chap seems to have a tough job!

Weird week, weirder weekend

So I spent 2 days at the funny farm taking the rest of the week off to ensure that the Tea Lady's stand went up and worked at the South of England Show, Wednesday set up, easy plan apart from the marquee wouldnt go up and was missing poles. Despite a 2 hour round trip we sacked that and set up on the morning using our garden BBQ Gazebo rather than miss out. Thanks to Elmer Fudd for helping all 3 days and Katie from next door for getting stuck in on the saturday. Will we do it again?

I dont think so, Madam wasnt impressed and it was a lot of work and cost for little return, didnt even win a prize for our display!

Here I am starting to make custom dog leads for the punters, all that effort and still no prize for best stand!

Here is the Tea Lady holding someones furry balls.

A close up on the display;

Live entertainment provided by the PWRR Band;

and something unique or perhaps ubique?

All of this means that the shooting has been on the back burner, still a round of sporting clays on sunday morning was good for my soul if not my average and after this I am planning some bunny and bambi bashing for the next few days. This weekend coming its the Sussex Game Fair at Parham Park
We will be there dispensing dog training supplies and good humour hopefully, should the weather hold I might get in a round of clays, never know I fancy a new pick up truck.

Anti democratic voting

The BBC has been reporting the lamentable state of democracy in this country mainly due to these results. It seems that despite the recent poor press regarding the snouts in trough activities of our currently elected gravy train riders that Aunty seems unable to ask the current party spokesman the correct question.
The question they seem unable to ask has been revealed on the Army Rumour Service;

DozyBint:
joey_deacons_lad:
I find it amusing that the fact people have voted for a legitimate political party can be bad for democracy i always thought voting for who you wanty was the whole point of the processPrecisely. I will never be in favour of the banning of any political party, no matter how abhorrent their policies, because the moment we make subjective decisions about who is allowed to stand for election, we become undemocratic. I too was rolling my eyes as each of the main parties lamented the attack on democracy, yet all they were lamenting were the votes which they failed to win. As the results prove, we are a generally very tolerant people and the protest / kick up the arse votes went mainly to the Green party and independents, so democracy has worked well.

Want to see that again?

yet all they were lamenting were the votes which they failed to win

Not too difficult to see is it?

A weekend work party completed

The fence for the birds pen is in better nick now, both 1000 litre water butts are over 2/3 rds full, the bird shelters are refurbed and the feeders are almost all in place.

Being a muppet I left my camera behind but I did remember the phone. The search also revealed some leftovers from thursdays suppliers visit;

Something the visitors left behind?

This is what we went to look at, I think one of these will be finding its way home hopefully!
