Yes I have been a little slack lately

In my defence its been an awful work week and trying to find time to fit everything in hasnt been easy. That all changes next month when I get weekdays off again. Whilst struggling to manage all of the balls I was juggling as well as getting the wood ready for the birds and also getting ready for the summer game fair and show rush!
Nigel in the meantime has sent me this, how to hold on correctly on a moving train;

Apparently it's the old chap by the door! Well fancy that. Phil sent me this, it seems that even criminals get lucky, if you dont believe me how can he get away with only a dog bite or ten when attempting to hold up a gunshop? The worlds shortest stick up;

This weekend we will be visiting the Heathfield Show for a couple of hours to spy it out for next year then moving on to Highclere castle for the Countrymans Fair.

Thursday night drinkies

Yes across to head office, not a bad meeting, the view on the way;

Was far better than from the office;
Still, a trip into a Youngs house and double chocolate stout means even an Oirishman cann be weaned of Clueless;

Not bad really!

The Fox Trap works (Graphic pics)

This chap had, along with the rest of his family, been helping himself to Uncle Ray's chickens;
The trap which whilst a tad large is very effective, it took about a month for charlie to lose his fear and his curiousity to take over;
He was fed whilst waiting for our on call pest controller;

A good looking lad but sadly he had to go;

Well go after a fashion anyway;

Something for the future?

That time of the month again

Another monday at the clubhouse;
The evenings subject of entertainment was;
Some of the exhibits, to set the scene;

The quality of the slides and lecture was very good;

Each model and variation was thoroughly explained;

Even the differences in bayonets;

Production runs detailed by factory, year and serial number block;

Feeding the piggies was not ignored;

Nor was the means;

We seem to need a carbine stalking day;

Believe me the carbines were far better made than the officers side arms;

Obviously what you have seen here has been a fraction of what was lectured and discussed, I really enjoyed it, stayed awake and am looking forward to a follow on if that is forthcoming?
Curry afterwards was a little rushed but tasty as per usual.

Salvation

Thanks to the Far Side and also mausers and muffins for pointing this out.

Goodbye to my favourite little girl

Today after a week of pain, 2-3 years of struggling with work and a really heartbreaking final night I bade farewell to Sheba The one constant in my sporting and home life these last 15 years, all through the good times and the trophies
The awful drives when beating stopped being fun for a few minutes

Those trials, the ones where she decided what she wanted to do and not what I wanted to do

And the best looking fashion model in the business

Goodbye old girl, I'll ensure that your ashes are scattered where you worked the best.
As we said goodbye today she was saluted by the call of a Cock Pheasant taking flight!

Someone I havent offended yet?

Things have been a little ropey around here, I will update shortly!

Thanks to Darryl for this,

Henry to miss world cup in drug shame!

Ding dong the wicked witch is dead

Knock Knock, its the bailiffs, pack your bags your time is up!
About fecking time too, I suppose its not too late to ask for our money back, you know the stuff I'm on about, my pension, my mortgage and my future!

I dont suppose we will last the year without another popularity contest, this time I hope the welsh bald former gingerhaired windbag and his accolytes will be out on their ears for an awfully long time!
Lets hope they dont stuff it up or kneel to low to accomodate the west country beardy ones. Early days, I wonder if we will see change or stability?
The one sour note to the county set is that a free vote on repealing the hunting ban will guarantee pretty much the falling of this new govt.
I'd rather see it fall on the repeal of the 1988 and 1997 firearms acts!

Capello has a difficult choice

When Rooney is injured and all else fails he now has a replacement for Emile Heskey aka the donkey;

Lets face it, no one will tacle him and he can always play basketball!

Back to reality and work

The only problem with getting older is that you attend more funerals than you remember doing as a child. This pic has 4 Generations of the family there dating from 1920 through to 2000.

The Tea Lady was very supportive and didnt point out my expanding waistline unlike the rest of my family!

The boys behaved really well and I may be sending them out to collect the rent later!

One of the strange things I learnt about my Gran was that in 1936 she was selected to represent Britain in the Berlin Olympics as the female High Jump contestant. Sadlly she couldnt go due to funding problems.

After the Crematorium and Church service we had a buffet at the local sports ground and then had some rest before an evening meal at the Lymme Breeze. It was nice and very surprising to see kids that you last saw as Todddlers or pre teens now pushing 30!

My Baby sister came up and brought her family, nice to see them growing up to be fine kids.
On Friday morning we caught up with uncle Simon for tea before the long drive home.
On the way home we dropped into the Outdoorsman to sort out some orders and catch up with Myles. Alex treats the place like a great toy shop, which it is;
Trouble is it also ends up in a dressing up session!
