Santa came around this afternoon

Ok so santa's name is Dave and he is a stalking client and he tells fibs. Nothing new there if you remember Kevin Bloody Wilson;

So there I am on my way home and the Tea Lady says "There is a surprise for you in the Ute!"
Now Dave said he had a head he had found and chucked in the hedge (road kill perhaps) and would like it, "of course" says I not wanting to offend.
Well knock me over look at Tripods mate, already starting to clean up;

Something else eh? Proper palmations even if they are tip damaged!

video

If that wasnt enough, Sheba aka me me has taken up training for the 2010 world cup;

video

Nelson rides again?

Or sails perhaps, methinks that perhaps his roar is needed once more to ensure we have a navy that can keep traditions alive!

Last night on channel 4

My big fat Gypsy Wedding well this program certainly showed them to be different, made an essex girls blingy celeb wedding look almost normal, perhaps it is nowadays?

Surprisingly I didnt have to shout at the television or even feel the need to, I am surprised.

I have been busy though, getting this ready for Richard;

Now time to get the sawing jig sorted, I think the one I have for Roe will be too small. The shields and clamps too!

Last Night

It was club night again, Bill gave the same lecture as I saw in 2002 at the Royal Armouries, always worth attending, some treats were in store and not for the first time they came from the members;
This well marked scope case turned up in a members collection, well marked for sure.

This little gem was inside and in remarkably good condition;

Nice isnt it?

Course completed, exam passed

Yes it snowed, I forgot ammo magazines, flask and even the combination to the gate but we did it. The only let down was the fact that only 2 of us today saw deer.

Was it cold? Damn right it was and I still found a volunteer willing to sit in a high seat for an hour or so!

It all culminated with an exam and the 3 candidates took home a certificate and hopefully some good experiences. No deer shot but thats not unusual on a first outing.

It certainly did snow though;

Thats 3 more stalkers ready to approach the police and start their stalking careers.

Now I am no longer on call its time perhaps for a sniff of this?

The snow arrived as I had predicted,

Sat in my hotel room with that warm glow of smugness. It hasnt hit the stalking grounds but it has hit the training area!

video

Those crazy Japanese eh?

Snow is on its way again

The weekend fast approaches and I need to get out stalking, days are still quite short and the snow threatens to make travelling difficult! I could just stay in and watch TV;

Ok, here is a little more of tripod the 3 legged buck, originally seen by Richard many months ago on his trail cams. He was plotted at various locations, salt licks tc and even jousting during the rut but never clearly through a rifle sight.

More to follow.

Anyhow I'll get back to that later, in the celeb obsessed world us poor mortals inhabit we have endured the media parading of this farce. Now whatever you think about alledged marital cheats to replace him with an alleged drug cheat, where's the sense in that or are we expected to have goldfish memories.
I'm glad to see that England took Wales in the 6 nations on saturday even if I cannt understnd why we have sin bins and lift players in the line outs, be wearing padding next!

Anyway enough of that lets have more of this even if it is faked;

video

As is probably this;

But this in Iraq shows that Human ingenuity will overcome even crappy French car designs and awful parking, I cant see it catching on though;

video

That said I could regale you with tales of our own darwin candidates but I'll save that for later.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Free market and his Fairy Tales for getting me involved in this game originally. He has retired from the active scene but is still publishing "on this day" so we can still enjoy what history the politically correct havent tried to airbrush out of our lives, Here's a glass of Dublin's whiskey raised to you!

First work party weekend

Spent saturday morning looking at a house with land, way out of my price league, well it wasnt until all the M class Mercs turned up!

Saturday afternoon spent at Eastbourne Borough watching the Seasiders beat Wrexham 2-1.

video

The next day was back to the wood, sorting out feeders and moving drums of feed around;

Of course we managed to flush more birds in 10 minutes than we had all season, typical!Breaking up the cache of drums means that we can walk around without carrying bags of grain for miles or use the vehicles, this is good, we can stalk charley whilst doing a feed round!
We spent a little time risking Toni's life and limb, even the dogs sat in the 4wd.

video

Richard managed at last to get his 3 legged buck, I get a haunch to do the trophy, its a big deer and hopefully I will post the story later this week.

I've no idea where this came from

It certainly looks funny, with the sad demise of Mr Free Market I will do my best to trawl t'internet for your enjoyment!
