Nice chap this city dweller, not only did he like the cut of my rifle he also sorted out the leaking taps and pipes and unblocked a drain. What a star!

Sorry about the guard but it kept sliding round. Did loads with that on Sunday afternoon, cleared some access paths into the cover, cleared around a few pegs and some tracks. Still need to clear around a couple of feeders and the paths to the first two pegs on the first drive!
Ben and I went clayshooting over at the Chalk Pit and enjoyed ourselves on the 50 bird sporting, the ABT however was very difficult!
Saturday was mainly log cutting and stacking and also getting the first bit of sunburn of the year!

colleague George Osborne also has the time to spend writing emails to me.
clear that I will not be supporting your local candidate in my constituency as he has spent
rather a lot of my money looking after a property which isnt in my constituency.
but your local candidate.
Yours heartilly fed up with the wasters in westminster
Remember, make your MP work for a living, dont re elect him!
Oh and Georgy boy got the same!
That said I have to admit that its not just e myther that gets my goat, I thought that preferential mailing lists meant that you dont receive such items of junk mail. Short of waiting for the other parties junk to arrive and swapping around inserts and returning them I thought this would do;
If enough people return them the Post office will start charging them for it! I suppose that reason enough to ensure that they dont get public funds for campaigning!

Thanks to Clive for this one;
I asked a friend's little daughter what she wanted to be when she grew up.
She said she wanted to be Prime Minister some day.
Both her parents, Labour supporters, were standing there, so I asked her,
"If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?"
Her parents beamed, and said, "Welcome to the Labour Party!"
"That's a worthy goal!" I told her, and continued, "But you don't have to wait until you're Prime Minister to do that. You can come over to my house, mow the lawn, pull weeds, sweep my drive and I'll pay you £25.
Then I'll take you over to that homeless chap who hangs out in front of the store. You can give him the £25 to use toward food."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless man come over and do the work himself and you can just pay him the £25?"

I wonder if the one eyed git is aiming to match M Bob for financial acumen?
Well SBW tipped up at chez bambi and enrolled in a bit of training. SBW and I after loading up the monkey and on to the wood for a zero session.
SBW's first bash with the 6.5 x 55 CZ 550 FS. A little more concentration required;
The next 6 round test group and I was happy with his effort;

Can anyone spot the difference?
Does anyone know exactly how representative of the population our political overlords are?

Meatballs in sauce stewing away on the pig, pan came with the piggy.
Lots of heat produced by the fire, trick is to leave the door open and the heat really does rage away!
That was saturday, so sunday morning was spent in the wood sorting out feeders and pegging out the drives. Yes at last we decided to peg out the drives, we might even look professional at this rate. The numbers are small but laminated so should survive the year, some drives are more stannd than walk but generally the shoot has moved to a walkk and stand.

Damn politicking by alleged senior spokesmen thats what it is.
This bunch of clowns and in fact every bunch of clowns since Jim Callaghan sent in the troops to Ulster in 1969 has denied the loss and sacrifice made by our service personell always put in harms way when politicians fail.
I say let the people (whoever they may be) show their respects however they want. It's not for me to do the same but its definetly a right I stood in line to defend, freedom of expression!
The bodies of those two Sappers were airfreighted back in a civil aircraft with no ramp ceremony!
Shame on you, the people at home are supportive of our troops as they represent us and our society, what that means is should the support wain then what little political will to keep fighting will disappear!

We took the usual size shedding and arrived on the saturday to set up. To say it had been raining was an understatement, some people had no idea why 4wd and off road tyres exist;
The stand looked pretty good when set up although as the business is run by a female it will constantly change!The crowds were steady all day sunday and we didnt get 5 minutes to sit down.
The weather was pretty grim on sunday but it still didnt deter the punters thankfully.
